Tre competizioni amatoriali che rappresentano altrettante sfide: Stelvio Santini, 3Epic Cycling Road e San Gottardo insieme nel Circuito LEGGENDA. Un circuito che porterà i partecipanti ad affrontare le salite che hanno scritto la storia del ciclismo su strada. E chi concluderà il percorso lungo delle tre granfondo potrà fregiarsi del titolo di “Leggendario”.
.jpg "Image") A chi piace la salita come sfida e prova contro sé stessi, da quest’anno c’è pane per i propri denti. Dall’incontro degli organizzatori di Granfondo Stelvio Santini, Granfondo 3Epic Cycling Road e Granfondo San Gottardo nasce un progetto comune che vuole premiare gli amatori che amano le sfide: il Circuito LEGGENDA. Prende corpo così un challenge che unisce tre delle granfondo più impegnative e allo stesso tempo affascinanti del panorama amatoriale sulle Alpi. Le tre granfondo presentano valori comuni e condivisi: gli elevati standard organizzativi, il fatto che si svolgono in luoghi d’interesse storico, ciclistico, culturale e paesaggistico e l’assenza di una classifica generale ma con le sole, impegnative e temibili, salite ad essere cronometrate. Il Circuito LEGGENDA non prevede quindi una classifica generale a tempo ma premia allo stesso modo tutti quelli che portano a termine il percorso lungo delle tre manifestazioni coinvolte. Il calendario inizia con la Granfondo Stelvio Santini del 3 giugno, la competizione che porta i partecipanti ad affrontare le ripide pendenze dello Stelvio, dopo aver domato le ascese di Teglio e Mortirolo. La Granfondo 3Epic Cycling Road del 10 giugno ha un percorso ideale per chi ama le salite storiche del ciclismo come l’ascesa alle Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Infine, la Granfondo San Gottardo del 22 luglio, l’ultima sfida, quella che condurrà i partecipanti all’ascesa del San Gottardo, un’esperienza che appaga spirito e corpo. Un trittico pensato come l’esaltazione del ciclismo alla sua massima potenza attraverso sfide lungo quei tratti mitici, teatro in passato di imprese sportive senza tempo. «Sicuramente da soli si può essere bravi, ma per raggiungere l’eccellenza bisogna lavorare in team – ha commentato Paola Santini, marketing manager di Santini Cycling Wear – ed è ciò che ci ha spinto a creare l’iniziativa LEGGENDA, con l’obiettivo di valorizzare l’impresa sportiva che vive e si alimenta nel cuore di ogni grimpeur». «Siamo convinti che il Circuito LEGGENDA contribuirà ad incrementare il prestigio della nostra Granfondo San Gottardo ma anche delle manifestazioni partner – ha dichiarato Sergio Romaneschi, Presidente della manifestazione svizzera– e l’unione di queste tre competizioni darà vita a qualcosa di unico per gli appassionati che avranno l’occasione di sfidarsi sulle salite di tracciati leggendari». «L’idea è nata dall’incontro con gli organizzatori della Stelvio Santini – puntualizza Massimo Panighel, organizzatore della 3Epic Cycling Road – che hanno partecipato alla 3Epic e ne sono rimasti entusiasti. Un’immediata sintonia d’intenti e un pizzico di reciproca simpatia hanno fatto il resto. Il passaggio al coinvolgimento della San Gottardo è stato quasi simultaneo per la stessa filosofia che ci accomuna. Ne è nato un piccolo gruppo, molto coeso ma con una grande disponibilità di apertura ad altri eventi che condividono questa straordinaria filosofia del pedalare che, ne siamo certi, rappresenta una nuova era e un nuovo modo di intendere le “Tradizionali Granfondo”».
THREE ALPINE GRANFONDOS COME TOGETHER IN THE CIRCUITO LEGGENDA
Three amateur competitions that present three big challenges: the Stelvio Santini, the 3Epic Cycling Road and the San Gottardo join forces in the Circuito LEGGENDA. A circuit that will see participants tackle the hillclimbs that made road racing history what it is today. Anyone that finishes all three grandfondos will receive “Leggendario” shield. If you see hillclimbs as a way of challenging yourself, then 2018 is going to be a bumper year for you. The meeting of minds between the organisers of the Granfondo Stelvio Santini, Granfondo 3Epic Cycling Road and Granfondo San Gottardo has produced a shared project designed to reward competitors that relish pushing their limits. The Circuito LEGGENDA is a challenge that brings together the three of the toughest yet also most attractive granfondos on the amateur Alpine circuit. The three granfondos share plenty of core values: high organisational standards, venues that are of great interest from the point of view of their history, cycling kudos, culture and landscape, and the fact that there is no overall classification, with only the gruelling hillclimbs timed. As a result, the Circuito LEGGENDA has no overall time classification but instead rewards all cyclists who complete the long route of the three events involved. The calendar kicks off with the Granfondo Stelvio Santini on June 3, a competition that sees participants tackling the steep slopes of the Stelvio pass after the Teglio and Mortirolo climbs. Next up is the Granfondo 3Epic Cycling Road on June 10 which is the perfect choice for lovers of historic hillclimbs not least the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Bringing up the rear is the Granfondo San Gottardo on July 22, which sees competitors grappling with the St Gotthard Hillclimb, a tough but mentally and physically rewarding challenge. A triptych that really turbocharges the cycling experience to the max with lengthy challenges on legendary stretches of road that have played host to some of the greatest sporting moments in history. “You can be good on your own but to achieve true excellence, you need to work as part of a team,” commented Paola Santini, marketing manager Santini Cycling Wear. “And that is what inspired us to create the LEGGENDA – we wanted to foster the love of competition that lives and burns in the hearts of all grimpeurs.” “We are convinced that the LEGGENDA will not only help boost the prestige of our Granfondo San Gottardo but also our partner events,” declared Sergio Romaneschi, chairman of the Swiss event. “The coming together of these three competitions will create something truly unique for enthusiasts who will now have the chance to test themselves on legendary hillclimbs.” “The idea came from a meeting with the Stelvio Santini organisers who had taken part in)the 3Epic and loved the experience,” says 3Epic Cycling Road organiser Massimo Panighel. “Being instantly on the same page in terms of intent and the fact that everyone clicked did the rest. The San Gottardo came onboard virtually immediately too because we share the same philosophy. The result was a small, tightknit group that was very open to other events that shared the same extraordinary cycling philosophy that we are convinced hails a new era and a new approach to the traditional granfondo.”
DREI ALPINE GRANFONDOS BEGRÜNDEN DEN „CIRCUITO LEGGENDA“
Drei Jedermannrennen, drei echte Herausforderungen – das sind Stelvio Santini, 3Epic Cycling Road und San Gottardo. Gemeinsam haben sie die Rennserie „Circuito LEGGENDA“ aus der Taufe gehoben. Eine Rennserie, bei der die Teilnehmer Anstiege bewältigen, die Radsportgeschichte geschrieben haben. Und wer alle drei Langstrecken der Granfondos geschafft hat, darf den Titel „Legende“ tragen. Wer harte Anstiege mag, um es sich selbst und der Welt zu beweisen, der bekommt von diesem Jahr an ordentlich zu tun. Denn die Organisatoren von Granfondo Stelvio Santini, Granfondo 3Epic Cycling Road und Granfondo San Gottardo haben sich zusammengetan, um eigens für Radsportamateure, die große Herausforderungen lieben, ein gemeinsames Projekt zu entwickeln – den „Circuito LEGGENDA“. Eine Challenge, welche die drei anspruchsvollsten und zugleich faszinierendsten Jedermannrennen in den Alpen verbindet. Drei Granfondos, die sich durch gemeinsame Werte auszeichnen: hohe Organisationsstandards, eine Streckenführung durch eine historisch, radsportlich, kulturell und landschaftlich interessante Region sowie der Umstand, dass es keine Gesamtwertung gibt, sondern dass nur die Zeiten der gefürchteten, anspruchsvollen Bergstrecken gemessen werden. Beim Circuito LEGGENDA existiert ebenfalls keine allgemeine Zeitwertung. Dafür werden all diejenigen prämiert, die das Finish der Langstrecke aller drei beteiligten Rennen geschafft haben. Erstes Rennen im Kalender ist der Granfondo Stelvio Santini am 3. Juni 2018. Hier warten auf die Teilnehmer die steilen Bergflanken des Stilfser Jochs, nachdem sie zuvor bereits die Anstiege von Teglio und Mortirolo hinter sich gebracht haben. DerGranfondo 3Epic Cycling Road vom 10. Juni 2018 ist das ideale Rennen für alle, die sich gerne auf legendären Strecken des Radsports beweisen, wie z.B. dem Anstieg zu den Drei Zinnen. Beim Granfondo San Gottardo am 22. Juli schließlich, dem letzten Rennen der Serie, klettern die Teilnehmer auf den Gotthardpass hoch – eine bereichernde Erfahrung für Körper und Geist. Ein „Triptychon“ also, das den Amateurradsport auf sagenumwobenen Strecken, auf denen sich in der Vergangenheit einige unvergessliche Kapitel der Radsportgeschichte abgespielt haben, auf sein höchstes Niveau hebt. Um sich den Titel “Legende“ abzuholen, der den Finishern der Langstrecke aller drei beteiligten Rennen zusteht, gilt es allerdings, die Siegerehrung des Granfondo San Gottardo abzuwarten. Am Schluss der Veranstaltung erhalten die Finisher einspezielles Abzeichen überreicht – als Symbol für den erkämpften Titel. Außerdem haben sie Anspruch auf einen Rabatt auf die Meldegebühr für alle drei Granfondos des kommenden Jahres. „Alleine kann man gut sein. Außerordentliches aber erreicht man erst im Team “, so der Kommentar von Paola Santini, Marketing Managerin von Santini Cycling Wear. „Dieser Gedanke hat uns dazu bewegt, die Initiative LEGGENDA ins Leben zu rufen. Dass wir beide die gleichen Ziele verfolgen und uns sofort sympathisch waren, hat den Rest besorgt. Dass wir dann noch den Granfondo San Gottardo mit einbezogen haben, war logisch, weil uns ja dieselbe Philosophie verbindet. So entstand unsere kleine Gruppe. Wir stehen eng zusammen, sind gleichzeitig aber auch sehr offen für weitere Veranstaltungen, die diese außergewöhnliche Philosophie des Radfahrens teilen, die – und davon sind wir überzeugt – für eine neue Ära und eine neue Interpretation der „traditionellen Granfondos“ steht. .gif "Image") |
